Children going to school in north Galway will be able to do so in greater safety with flashing lights to be erected at four schools in the region.
The schools to be included in the Galway County Council programme are Annaghdown, Claran, Clydagh, and Lisheenkyle.
Fianna Fáil Cllr Mary Hoade, who has campaigned for all four schools to have the lights, has welcomed the decision saying it will “improve safety for the children attending all the primary schools”.
