Three women go Over The Edge

MOYRA DONALDSON, Davnet Heery, and Aileen Armstrong will read from their work at the next Over The Edge: Open Reading.

The reading takes place in the Galway City Library on Thursday September 29 at 6.30pm and will also see the announcement of the winners of this year’s Over The Edge New Writer of the Year.

Co Down’s Moyra Donaldson has been described as one of the country’s most distinctive and accomplished writers.

She has received four awards from the Arts Council NI, most recently, the Artist Career Enhancement Award. Her poems have featured on radio and television, including Channel 4’s Poems to Fall in Love With. Her most recent collection, Miracle Fruit, was published by Lagan Press.

Aileen Armstrong’s writing has appeared in the Stinging Fly, Three Times Daily, and Some Blind Alleys. She is working on a collection of short stories. Davnet Heery is a poet and playwright. Her short story The Little Girl in Pink was short-listed for The 2011 Francis McManus Award.
