GALWAY AND Derry talent will play the Róisín Dubh this Saturday at 9pm as part of the 20th IMRO Showcase Tour.
Headlinging is Daithí Ó Dronaí, the exciting young talent whose music combines Irish trad, techno, indie, and math-rock. He also takes an imaginative approach to violin playing. He plays entirely solo with no pre-recorded tracks. Instead he creates layers of sound, counter melodies, percussion (such as by tapping his violin as a drumbeat ), and accompaniment through the use of a loop pedal.
The line up is completed by County Derry singer-songwriter Rainy Boy Sleep; Junior 85, the solo ambient/electronica project of Galway musician Tony Higgins; and Galway indietronic duo Milan Jay.
Tickets are available from the Róisín Dubh and www.roisindubh.net See also www.imro.ie
