Senior hurling championship resumes

After the terrific All-Ireland successes of the county minor and u-21 sides over the past two weeks, the county senior hurling championship resumes in earnest this weekend with five group games down for decision.

On Saturday in Ballinasloe (4pm ), Craughwell take on Loughrea, and in Athenry (5.30pm ), Clarinbridge face St Thomas in a top-of-the-table clash.

There are three games down for decision on Sunday.

Castlegar face Sarsfields at Duggan Park at 4pm, Gort and Beagh are in action in Kinvara at 4.30pm and at 5pm, while Tommy Larkins face last year’s intermediate champions Padraig Pearses.
