Rugby fever @ Kenny’s

THE RUGBY World Cup starts this weekend and fingers are crossed that Ireland’s display will be vastly improved from the 2007 tournament.

To celebrate the 2011 cup, which is being held in New Zealand, The Kenny Gallery will host an exhibition by a host of different artists, featuring paintings, drawings, and sculptures, depicting and inspired by the great game of rugby.

The exhibition, entitled The Art of Rugby, features sculpture by John Behan; depictions of the Irish squad by Vicki Crowley; acrylic work by Jim Kinch; bog oak by Kieran Tuohy; caricatures by Niall O’Loughlin; and paintings of curvy women playing rugby by Stef Callaghan.

The exhibition runs throughout September. The gallery is open Mondays to Saturdays from 9am to 5pm. Admission is free and all are welcome.
