An interesting art exhibition showcasing the work of Eileen Joyce will run at Renzo Cafe in Eyre Street until Tuesday October 22. Eileen Joyce began her artistic endeavours on an art course in Rathmines in the early sixties and then went on to study in Fr Griffin Road Technical College in Galway and GMIT.
When she moved to Connemara she was mentored by Kenneth Webb and the late Philip Robinson. Her first commercial paintings were landscapes of Connemara where she lived with her family in the seventies. She has also spent time at the Paintbox in Barna, under the tutelage of Miriam Cronin.
At the age of 60 a BA in Art and Design was conferred on Eileen by GMIT and she has taken part in numerous group exhibitions and her solo exhibition was a sell-out success. Her paintings are inspired by the Irish landscape and her travels abroad and her work can be viewed on www.joycepaintings.com Any artists interested in displaying work at the exhibition can contact Susan at 086 8521102.
