Cameras begin rolling in Galway on set of new comedy film

The cameras began rolling in Galway this week for the new comedy the Seven Songs of Amy.

It is understood that Scottish actor James Cosmo, known for his roles in Game of Thrones, Bravement, and Sons of Anarchy, is due to arrive in Galway to begin filming. Cosmo is to take on the role of Amy’s father in the Sonny and Skye Production feature film.

The comedy, directed by BAFTA nominated director Konrad Begg (Top Gear ), tells the tale of a Galway singer and musician who is trying to win back the love of his life from a successful popstar. The feature will be filmed in locations across Galway before the production moves to New York in September.

Cosmo joins other cast members including Sean Maguire (Meet The Spartans, LA Blues ), Kevin J Ryan (Laredo ), Lorna Anderson (River City ), Ford Kiernan (Still Game, Gangs of New York ), Gavin Mitchell (Mandancin’ ), Patrick Bergin (Sleeping with the Enemy ), and rock band Alabama 3.
