LEADING IRISH figures in blues, trad, and folk, will be heading to the Aran Islands this month to play the Inis Oírr Music Festival.
First up is Irish blues legend Henry McCullough and his band - Percy Robinson, Roe Butcher and Peter McKinney - this Saturday at 8pm. The County Antrim man has the distinction of being the only Irishman to have played Woodstock and in the early 1970s he was a key member of Paul McCartney’s band Wings.
The following week sees flute player Marcus Ó hIarnáin joined by melodeon player Johnny Connolly for a gig on Friday August 26 at 8.30pm.
Then on Saturday 27, also at 8.30pm, there will be a concert from singer-songwriter John Faulkner, who has collaborated with the likes of Dé Danann, Kevin Burke, and Dolores Keane, accompanied by Altan accordionist Dermot Byrne.
