FOR THE LAST year and a half, great music from the 1940s, 1950s, and early 1960s, have been keeping audiences dancing like crazy upstairs in the Róisín Dubh on Friday nights.
Finally the night has a name, it’s The Beat Room, and tomorrow it will see the return of DJ Kit Kola alongside DJ Byron Yeates for another night of the best classic mid-20th century music.
The night was begun in February 2010 by Kit, with Byron joining shortly afterwards and the pair played together until August 2010. Kit took some time out and Byron carried on the night, and tomorrow sees Kit return.
To mark Kit’s return there will be a limited number of free CDs available, featuring tracks chosen by Byron and Kit.
The Beat Room runs every Friday night from midnight to 2.30am. Admission is free. See The Beat Room Facebook page.
