Polish Irish dance group to perform in Clarinbridge

A group of Polish Irish traditional dancers will be performing in Clarinbridge this Saturday as part of the Clarinbridge Arts Festival.

The group, called Galway ZTI, were established in June 2006 in Bedzin, Silesia, in Poland. The group call themselves Galway ZTI as they consider the city to be the cultural and artistic capital of Ireland.

The performers studied under Shane McAvinchey, originally from Nenagh, who toured with Riverdance and is now based in Munich at the city’s dance academy.

Galway ZTI features eight dancers who are dedicated to the performance of traditional Irish dance. They have also won an award from the city of Bedzin for achievements in the field of artistic creation, protection and promotion of culture.

Galway ZTI’s dance show takes place at 9.30pm in Sherry’s and at 10.30pm at Rafterys’ Rest.
