Power Soccer

Power Soccer is running a host of summer camps throughout the city and county over the next two months.

Established in Galway since 2004, the Power Soccer camps are based on skill learning, with respect and fair play at the root of its philosophy.

The daily schedule is made up of ball technique practice, skill sessions on defending, shooting, ball tricks, receiving the ball with different parts of the body, dribbling, footwork moves, passing and soccer games. Running through the week are fun competitions - penalty shoot-outs, breakaway and luggling, while Wednesday is Soccer Olympics - a skills programme in which each player represents a country and has the opportunity to participate in a specific skill exercise with every coach in the camp.

Players bring their own snacks and lunch, and this year players will receive a Galway United T-shirt. Kits can be purchased at the camp for €20.

Children must already be three years old to participate. Children aged three and four years attend an early touches camp which runs for two hours (12 noon to 2pm ), while the main camp for players aged 6+ runs for four hours (10am to 2pm ).
