Pugwash @ Monroe’s Live

PUGWASH, the great Dublin power-pop band, centred around singer-songwriter Thomas Walsh, play Monroe’s Live tonight at 9.30pm.

Since their wonderful 1999 debut Almond Tea, Pugwash have released five outstanding albums, which delight in the melodic and the psychedelic, and never afraid to doff their cap to The Beatles and ELO.

Walsh’s music has earned him the respect of his peers, particularly XTC’s Andy Partridge, who has written songs with Walsh, and The Divine Comedy’s Neil Hannon, with whom Walsh created the sublime and eccentric cricket concept album The Duckworth-Lewis Method.

A night of pop-rock of the highest calibre is guaranteed. Tickets are €7.50 from Monroe’s Bar or through [email protected]
