ARI HEST, whom The Boston Globe describes as “a prolific songwriter and a captivating live performer”, plays Campbell’s Tavern, Cloughanover, this Saturday at 9pm.
The New York singer-songwriter will perform songs from his new album, Sunset Over Hope Street, released in March, as well as songs from his audacious 52 project.
In 2008, 52 found Ari writing, recording and releasing a song a week for an entire year - 52 weeks in a row - via a subscription based website built specifically for the project. By year’s end, Hest had accumulated thousands of subscribers, who paid between $20 and $75 to get one song delivered to their email every Monday.
As Performing Songwriter magazine said: “Ari Hest achieved the extraordinary in 2008 by writing a song every week that listeners could download from his website. The best part: His songs are high-caliber and deeply heartfelt.”
