Jack Jordan’s in association with the Coeliac Society of Ireland has announced the official launch of gluten free fish and chips to its already established menu. The launch will take place on Saturday July 2 from 12 midday to 8pm at Unit 3, Doughiska, Galway. A range of gluten free options including fresh cod, sausages, onion rings, curry sauce, and homemade cut chips will be served from 12 noon to 8pm on the day alongside their usual menu.
Owner James Parker says: “We are very excited about this launch and have a very special day planned with lots of entertainment, special guest appearances, including Michael Meehan, and live music by Karate Pencil Case, of the All Ireland Talent Show fame. It should be a day to be enjoyed by all our customers, existing and new and everyone is welcome to join us to make this day a fun family occasion.”
Jack Jordan’s was set up in 2009 by James Parker and Sean Jordan. Both men worked locally for many years, Parker as a civil engineer and Jordan as a plasterer. Since the construction industry dried up in this current economic climate, they decided to reinvent themselves. Jack Jordan’s has built up an excellent reputation for exceptional quality fish and chips. Parker and Jordan believe that maintaining high food standards is paramount and central to their core values. They exclusively use top quality fresh fish (never fresh frozen at sea ), which is supplied from the award winning Galway Bay Seafoods, and have a strict cook to order policy. This creates a far superior end product, of which James and Sean are very proud.
Repeated enquiries for gluten free options prompted the owner James Parker to contact the Coeliac Society of Ireland (www.coeliac.ie ). Through assistance and guidance that the Coeliac Society of Ireland has provided, Jack Jordan’s has created the range of gluten free options, which will be added to its existing menu. Advice from their local environmental health officer and educating themselves on the strict criteria needed, Jack Jordan’s now has a separate dedicated area and fryer for producing safe gluten free options for the public.
