Bee Green Dry Cleaners officially launched its environmentally friendly brand to the Irish market on Tuesday at its Briarhill Shopping Centre branch. The Langan family were joined by Mayor of Galway City Cllr. Mike Crowe and members of the Galway business community to mark this event. Bee Green is the only 100 per cent green dry cleaners in Ireland, using biodegradable detergents which are non-allergenic, non-irritating and odour free.
‘It’s great news to see the development of a new innovative business which is not only friendly to our environment, our clothes and our health, but has the potential to provide employment and contribute to our local economy. The Langan family are to be admired for bringing this new dry cleaning process to Ireland, the first of its type in Europe,’ said Cllr. Mike Crowe, Mayor of Galway city.
Stephen and Rita Langan and family are an example of how Irish family businesses, even in recessionary times, can thrive. Providing exceptional results to the domestic, hospitality, and corporate market, Bee Green Dry Cleaners are steadily building a loyal client base in both Galway and Mayo, with four branches now established in Westport, Belmullet, Castlebar, and Briarhill.
‘We are very aware that families with children who have respiratory weaknesses or asthma as well as skin irritations like eczema and psoriasis, are relieved when they discover we use none of the traditional chemicals which may irritate their conditions. The combination of the processes used and biodegradable cleaning products leave garments fresh, clean and odour free,’ commented Rita Langan, Bee Green Dry Cleaners.

Looking to the future and caring for their own health as well as that of their customers, the Langans sought out this alternative to the traditional dry cleaning systems. Rita Langan was determined that she and her family would have a healthy working environment, free from chemicals and potential hazards. Following extensive research into next generation dry cleaning systems she found what she was looking for in Canada.
This innovative process of environmentally friendly dry cleaning, devised some decades ago, uses a combination of modern electronic technology, high quality machinery, and above all specially formulated biodegradable cleaning solutions. Bee Green Dry Cleaners, with its highly trained team and revolutionary approach are leading the way in the future of garment and fabric cleaning.
‘We understand the importance of customers entrusting us with their most precious garments like their wedding dresses or expensive outfits, and we endeavour always to exceed expectations. Regularly customers express their delight with our cleaning results – this is most satisfying and motivates us in keeping our high standards,’ commented Paul Langan, Beegreen Dry Cleaners, Galway.
Bringing their sense of ethical business a step further, the Langans provide recyclable hangers which they encourage customers to either use in the storage of their garments or to return for reuse. The Langans see the importance of businesses giving back to the community and were major supporters of the recent Buy My Dress charity fundraiser in aid of Down Syndrome Centre in Galway and Mayo, as well as supporting other local charities including the NBCRI, Enable Ireland, the ISPCC and Cancer Care West.
