Man charged with importing drugs to be sent for trial

A man charged with drug dealing offences as well as the alleged importing of cocaine is to be sent forward for trial.

Inspector Sean Glynn told Galway District Court on Monday that the Director of Public Prosecutions has consented to trial by indictment in the matter.

Tomasz Rokowski (28 ), with an address at 92 Cois Na hAbhainn, Tuam, is charged with the possession of cocaine with intent to sell or supply to others, and unlawfully importing a controlled drug, to wit cocaine, contrary to Section 15 and 21 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, at Deerpark Industrial Estate on August 23, 2010.

The court further heard that Rokowski is currently on High Court bail and that the book of evidence is being prepared and would be available by July 4.

Judge Mary Fahy remanded Rokowski on continuing bail to appear in court again on July 4 for the service of the book of evidence.
