Kickboxing fires ahead

Several last-minute pull outs did not stop the Black Dragon Promotions IKF officially sanctioned show taking place last weekend at the Menlo Hotel.

Althrough three fights were cancelled, nine bous remained on the action-packed card, including a battle between Donegal’s Darryl Orr and Galway’s Gary Giles which went the way of the Donegal man by a majority decision.

Leona Trautt showed serious potential in her first outing against tough Laois girl Rachel Ryan and earned an unanimous points victory, while Dylan Casey pulled off a great win over Limerick’s Dan O' Connor and the decision was also unanimous.

Martin Murray drew with Cork’s Ryan Keane in an exciting K-1 rules bout and Mike Bannon took a majority decision over Dubliner Evan Walker in a tough but technichal K-1 bout.

Alex Novac beat Polish native Woijtek Tomaschevsko, also fighting out of Spartans Muay Thai camp in Cork in one of the most entertaining fights of the night by unanimous decision under K-1 Rules and Eric Daly defeated Donegal’s Chris Coyle by unanimous decision in another classic K-1 rules battle.
