GO PANDA Go, the exciting new Galway indie/alternative band, play Strange Brew in the Róisín Dubh on Thursday May 12 at 9pm.
When Go Panda Go released their debut EP late last year on Bluestack Records it was as a quartet featuring Donegalmen Paul Willis and Sean Bushell, along with Galwegians Yoseph Sheridan and Brian Ruane.
Now the quartet are a quintet as the enormously talented Galway singer-songwriter Elaine Mai has joined their ranks. Check out her music at elainemai.bandcamp.com/ Go Panda Go’s music and live performances have already earned them much critical praise. Nialler9 said their “mix of taut indie-rock rhythms, boisterous harmonies, and reflective melodies...display an assured and established sound so we’re convinced that there is plenty more to look forward to in the coming 12 months.”
BBC’s Across The Line has said “there’s plenty going on here: bright guitars, polyrhythmic drumming, and unique multi-layered vocals, yet everything is cleverly spaced out, without being invasive of each other.”
Admission is free and Gugai will be DJing afterwards. See www.gopandagomusic.com for videos, remixes, and free downloads.
