Kilcolgan Educate Together primary school will hold an information evening for new and prospective parents at the facility on Wednesday April 6 at 8pm.
People are invited to attend, meet the teachers and explore the school. Located in the village, it was set up to service the greater south Galway area. Its pupils children come from Oranmore, Gort, Craughwell, Kinvara and Ardrahan.
“Our school is based on the four principles of Educate Together, those being that the school is multi-denominational, co-educational, child-centred and democratically run,” explains a spokesperson for the school.
“We recognise that each child is unique and that children come to us with many different learning styles, talents and personalities. Recognising this individuality we aim to help each child realise his or her full potential while nurturing the values of respect and tolerance to encourage children to ‘learn together to live together.’
”Educate Together is the patron body with a local board of management and the school is funded in the same way as most schools in the country.”
