Spring fashion kicked of at last week’s Milano’s Fashion Show where boutiques from the county revealed little gems, giving us some great style ideas and a glimpse of what we can expect to update our wardrobe this season.
Kicking off the show was Madison Boutique focusing on sheer tone dresses with peach, soft pink, and a beautiful peach and purple silk dress, ideal for a wedding guest.
Dresses were a real treat, with a variety of styles for all occasions this season: knee length, lean lines, bold colours, or playful patterns in silk, chiffon, jersey, or lace fabrics. Inviting colours were shown by Beverly Hills with cocktail party gowns from royal blue to hot pink, to electric yellow, with delicious tangerine at Demora, and elegant emerald at Brown Thomas. My eyes were drawn to a stunning rich bronze full length strapless dress with embroidery details from Beverly Hills boutique — a red carpet perfect for balls. Monochrome was also featured with a stunning white and navy polka dot dress with delicate frill details on the collar: a cute little number, perfect with black court shoes for a polished look.
More casual looks were also featured with sporty monochrome geometric prints, maxi dresses at Monet boutique, and safari chic at Demora featuring a camel and gold tweed jacket á la Chanel with khaki cropped pants that will appeal to many, complete with seventies style sunglasses from Hughes opticians, and ensembles and dresses with subtle craft details at Rococo.
There was something also for mothers of the bride/groom with beige with blue stripes — very Jacky O — from the Treasure Chest and a white and pink ensemble from Sugar Pink.
This season looks are playful but elegant, fun and easy to wear, demure and sophisticated.
