TJ Miles exhibition and painting demonstration at Kenny's

ANTRIM ARTIST TJ Miles will host a new exhibition of his works at the Kenny Gallery and give a painting demonstration in aid of the Galway Hospice Foundation.

The new exhibition, entitled Racing For The Mark, will be officially opened at Kenny's, Liosbán Retail Park, Tuam Road, this Saturday at 2pm, followed immediately by the painting demonstration.

TJ Miles studied art, psychology, and sociology before returning to art in 1993 to fulfil a need to record experiences living in Northern Ireland. Originally working in watercolours, he then progressed to acrylics for more flexibility to mould with his imagination.

His most recent work has seen Mr Miles develop a more abstract and naïve style with using bold brushstrokes and depicting traditional Irish images of cottages, winding lanes, fishing boats, but giving them unusual shapes and bright colours.

There will be a limit of 110 tickets for the painting demonstration. Each ticket costs €15 and all proceeds go directly to the Galway Hospice. Tickets are available from Kenny’s ([email protected], 091 - 709350 ) and from Galway Hospice (091 - 770868 ).

Kenny’s is also appealing to artists and members of the public to donate an original painting either to be displayed in the patient and public areas of the hospice in Renmore or to be sold at the Art for Hospice auction in December 2011. All proceeds will, again, go to Galway Hospice.

TK Miles exhibition continues daily, from 9am to 5pm, Mondays to Saturdays, until April 7.
