St Jarlath’s face Summerhill in Connacht final

St Jarlath’s College, Tuam, take on Summerhill College in the senior “A” Connacht final this Saturday at 2pm in Hyde Park.

St Jarlath’s defeated St Gerald’s by 3-10 to 0-6 in their first round match before qualifying for the Connacht final by virtue of a walk-over against St Muredach’s in the semi-final.

The Sligo lads defeated St Mary’s in their semi-final by 1-12 to 0-8.

The Tuam school has not won a senior A Connacht title since 2008, while Summerhill has not won the title since 1985.

The St Jarlath’s management team is led by Joe Burke again this season and the team captain is Ian Burke.

The St Jarlath’s team to start the final on Saturday is expected to be along the following lines: James Healy (Annaghdown ), Cathal Mulryan (Cortoon Shamrocks ), Conor Cunningham (Corofin ), Daniel Collins (Corofin ) Pa Glynn (Dunmore ), Adrian Nolan (Killererin ), Paul Varley (Cortoon ), Gearoid Armstrong (Salthill ), Liam Silke (Corofin ), Shane Walsh (Kilkerrin/Clonberne ), Ian Burke, cpt, (Corofin ), Conor McNamara (Corofin ), Seán Silke (Corofin ), Adrian Varley (Cortoon ), Michael McWalter (Milltown ).

Other key players on the panel, Conor Langan (Corofin ), Colin Treacy (Monivea/Abbey ), Ryan Rooney (Cortoon ), Eanna Bane (Caherlistrane ) and Martin Farragher (Corofin ), are also likely to see action this Saturday.
