The Backstage Bar opens at Monroe's

Sunday March 6 sees the opening of another new bar at Monroe's Live Music Venue. The Backstage Bar, located at the back of the venue's main stage upstairs, has a capacity of up to 180 people and will run a special Sunday Night Season.

For a night of rockabilly and kitsch glamour, Monroe's have put together a sensational combo of Joe Fury & the Hayride and the beautiful Kit Kola to rock the newly named Backstage Bar for a special Sunday Night launch.

Joe Fury & the Hayride will bring their renowned and red hot vintage country and rockabilly vibes, together with a touch of bluegrass and a good measure of swamp and blues to launch the night and will be complimented by Kit Kola's unique rock n' roll swing and psychobilly tunes.

The official opening follows a series of once-off gigs including private events, CD launches and appearances by acts such as No Crows, Milk-kan,Supermodel Twins and the Hardcore Priests of Yemen. The Lazy Blues Band have also begun a regular monthly slot at the Backstage Bar before the Timbertramps First Friday Residency.

Gary Monroe of Monroe's Live "hopes to offer an eclectic mixture of music and a venue where you can catch an early intimate show and then catch another act on their main stage after no extra charge". The venue hopes to maintain an intimate music performance vibe and will open every Sunday from 8pm in what they hope will attract musos and regulars alike, gathering for a weekend wind down.

This special evening will begin at 8pm and all at Monroe's would like to welcome everyone along.
