The leader of The Labour Party Eamon Gilmore will visit Galway tomorrow to support the General Election campaigns of the party’s three candidates in the county.
Councillor Derek Nolan is standing for Labour in Galway West while councillor Colm Keaveney and Lorraine Higgins are running in Galway East. Mr Gilmore is originally from east Galway and went to university in UCG.
Mr Gilmore will do a ‘walkabout’ in the city, starting at the GBC Restaurant and Coffee Shop, Williamsgate Street, at 11.45pm, before continuing on to Shop Street.
From 1.15pm to 2.15pm Mr Gilmore will go on a ‘walkabout’ of Tuam town centre, beginning at The Corralea Court Hotel, The Square. He will then travel to Athenry to officially launch the election campaign of Lorraine Higgins at her election campaign office, Old Church Street, at 3pm. This will be followed by a walkabout of Athenry
