The arrival of the revised Lexus IS 200d with the new 150bhp, 2.2 litre IS 200d engine has been overshadowed somewhat by the publicity surrounding the arrival of the new CT 200h.
It has arrived with reduced prices and the IS200d now starts from €34,680.
Building on the dynamic sports saloon’s award winning style, comfort, refinement, and class–leading equipment levels, the 2011 IS model range incorporates improved powertrains, exterior styling revisions, and refreshed interior design.
The Lexus’ IS200d leads the updated 2011 IS model range, incorporating new design elements, giving the IS a more distinctive look and character and a lower entry price.
Replacing the previous IS 220d, the new 150bhp 2.2 litre IS 200d delivers better fuel economy, lower CO2 emissions, and a refined and smoother drive. With CO2 emissions of 134g/km, annual road tax for the IS200d clocks in at €156.
New to the IS lineup, the F-Sport grade is now available with both petrol and diesel versions, replacing the previous Sport grade. F-Sport is heavily influenced by the styling of the ultra-high-performance IS F, featuring a range of exclusive exterior and interior styling details together with bespoke suspension — lowered by 15mm on the IS200d and featuring IS F components on the IS250. The new F-Sport comes to the market with a competitive price of €38,620 for the IS200d version.
With the upgraded range the IS 250 is now available exclusively with six-speed automatic transmission, with revisions to the powertrain ensuring compliance with Euro 5 emissions standards, improvements to fuel consumption, and reduced C02 emissions from 209 to 194g/km.
Lexus CT 200h wins fleet award — Clean Car of the Year 2011
Meanwhile, the new Lexus CT 200h was named as the Clean Car of the Year 2011 in the fleet category at the Brussels Motor Show.
The candidates have been evaluated based on more than 10 criteria, the principle of which was the life cycle cost. All the selected candidates are contributing to clean mobility but the CT 200h excelled in the majority of the criteria and therefore was judged to be most deserving of the title.
Bringing Lexus and its hybrid technology to a wider, younger, audience, the CT 200h marks the introduction of the first, and only, full hybrid vehicle at the heart of the premium compact segment.
Created with the European market in mind, its size, packaging, full hybrid technology, and ultra-low CO2 emissions of 87g/km certainly meet the requirements of environmentally-conscious customers.
Lexus told the Galway Advertiser that the new CT 200h also represents outstanding value for money. It can deliver cost savings to private owners, company car drivers, and fleet operators alike thanks to its unique combination of low emissions-linked taxation advantages, outstanding fuel efficiency, low service, maintenance and repair costs, and strong residual values.
