The Galway County Council will accept Christmas trees for recycling during normal working hours at a number of depots around the county from next week. The recycling service, which is available to domestic users only, will be available from Saturday January 8 to Saturday January 15.
The service will be available at the following sites around the county: Athenry waste water treatment plant, Prospect, Athenry; Canal Drive, Ballinasloe; the ball alley on Beach Road, Clifden; An Cheathrú Rua waterworks; council yard, Gort; the pound in the Fairgreen, Loughrea; the Black Quarry on the Mountbellew to Ballinasloe road, Mountbellew, near 30-mile speed limit sign; the council chip depot, Lisconly, Milltown; Oughterard car park; the council site on Mountain Road (400 yards up the Moycullen-Spiddal road on right ), Moycullen; council yard, Portumna; recycling centre, Athenry road, Tuam; the council yard beside the mart in Headford; and the water pumping station on the Coast Road, Oranmore.
