Fine Gael councillor Brian Walsh has dismissed as “nonsense”, comments in a recent Insider column suggesting that he and Dep Pádraic McCormack are “at each other’s throats”.
“Nothing could be further from reality,” said Cllr Walsh. “I enjoy an excellent relationship with Pádraic. We work closely together on many issues and meet almost on a weekly basis to discuss matters of concern to our constituents. I and my family have been supporters of Pádraic since he was first elected to the Senate in 1987.”
Cllr Walsh said he has acted as Dep McCormack’s director of elections on two occasions in the past and says he considers him “a political ally and a close friend”.
