Caltra ladies ready for All Ireland final

Caltra Cuans Junior A Ladies face the ultimate test this weekend when they face St Enda’s of Tyrone in the All Ireland final.

The Caltra juniors must travel on Saturday to Mulnahoran, Cavan to contest this decider againt the Ulster champions at 2pm.

An epic encounter is expected between these two strong teams - both of which have overcome some tough opponents en route.

Caltra started out in the championship by defeating St Gabriel’s, Monivea Abbey and St Micheal’s before defeating Leitirmore in an outstanding game of football in the Galway final.

They started their journey through Connacht by defeating Strokestown of Roscommon, Eoghan Rua of Sligo, before prevailing over Tourmakeady of Mayo to claim the Connacht title.

The newly-crowned Connacht champions played Moyle Rovers of Tipperary in the All Ireland semi final in a game that went down to the wire. However Caltra Cuans once again came out on top, winning by 2 - 10 to 0 - 12, while St Enda’s finished 1-12 to 0-7 over Edenderry Offaly.

The club is holding a fundraising night in Sadies of Caltra tomorrow evening with special guest appearances on the night, while Mass will be celebrated at 8pm in Caltra church for all deceased members of Caltra GAA seniors, juveniles and ladies clubs.
