Picturesque Inis Oírr scooped one of the top awards at 2010 All-Island Pride of Place competition with The Latin Quarter in Galway city and Letterfrack also doing well by taking runner up awards.
It may be the smallest of the Aran Islands but Inis Oírr packed a big punch at this year’s award ceremony held recently at Knightsbrook Hotel, Trim, Co Meath. Comhar Caomhán Teo, Inis Oírr, won top prize in category nine of the island category while The Latin Quarter was runner up in category one of the cities competition and Connemara West Plc in Connemara was runner up in category one of the main competition.
