What if the Irish had not emigrated?

Irish emigrants have made major contributions to Canadian, Argentinean, American, British, and Australian life, but what might the world have missed out on if the Irish had not emigrated?

This is the question that will be discussed in a public lecture at the Galway City Museum on Monday November 15 at 7pm by Gerard Moran of the History Department of Maynooth University.

His talk will also focus on the less well known contributions of Irish emigrants to the worlds of music, politics, and popular culture, such as the fact that John F Kennedy was not the first Irish-American president. There will be a Q&A afterwards.

All are welcome to the talk.
