Lyons welcomes new footpath on Ballymoneen Road

Roadworks are under way on the Ballymoneen Road as a new footpath is being constructed south of the entrance to Ashleigh Grove.

The work is being carried out by the Galway City Council and has been welcomed by local Cllr Donal Lyons.

“I have been consistently making representations to officials at the city council concerning road safety,” he said, “and the lack of a footpath south of the entrance to the Ashleigh Grove estate.”

Cllr Lyons said the works will lead to greater road safety and comfort for pedestrians.

He said he will continue to make representations for funding for the Upper Ballymoneen Road and the Upper Clybaun Road which also need “urgent funding for the provision of public lighting and footpaths”.
