The whole notion of luxurious gift ideas for every budget is very appealing. Browsing through the Galway store recently we came up with a few gift ideas we would like to find in our own stockings on Christmas morning.
YSL has the most exquisite limited edition compact known to man. Part of the company’s Metallic Colorama collection, it is packaged in rose gold faux leather, and the powder is nude with a slight shimmer. It looks like an old fashioned cigarette case from the forties, and if you like to pull a gorgeous compact out of your bag to do fast touch ups this is the compact for you.
Next item on any girl’s wish list is the Mulberry Edna bag; it is slightly metallic, in camel grainy lambskin with chain handle, and lies flat against the body. It is a ladylike departure from the Bayswater and Alexa bag, and for the girl who likes Mulberry but has many moods, this fits the bill perfectly.
Also in the fabulous category are the Ruby and Ed slippers, artfully displayed in the lingerie department. Just when I started thinking slippers had no glamour factor, these little numbers proved me wrong. For the make up lover on your list, Bobbi Brown has created a departure from her usual nude face look; the Smoky Sultry Smouldering collection comes in the most amazing array of foolproof shades to create the perfect smokey eye to suit every girl.
While on the cosmetics floor have a look at the just in Crème de la Mer light reflecting concealer. Delivering exactly what Crème costumers have come to expect, I think it is the best available. It is light and airy while providing good coverage, and doesn’t sit in fine lines, the downfall of most concealers. If you have bags under your eyes that take from your overall appearance, then put this on your wish list. It comes with a perfect tiny brush to apply and it makes you look like you have had 10 hours’ sleep.
For the denim lover on your list All Saints has an amazing pair of shiny skinny black denims at an affordable price. They look almost wet when on, and paired with an oversized chunky knit, you are ticking all the relevant boxes this season with regard to mixing textures.
The Marvel Room in Dublin is filled with exquisite objects of desire, and it is worth noting that it is possible to dip your toe into luxury here in Galway as well, without completely breaking your budget.
