Ladies have to wait for another day at Ballinrobe

Ladies’ Day, planned at Ballinrobe Racecourse this week (Monday August 11 ) , has been transferred to Sunday August 24, due to forecast inclement weather. While racing did go ahead on Monday, the ladies were forced to keep their stunning Ladies’ Day outfits under lock and key for another couple of weeks.

Horse Racing Ireland’s fashion ambassador and TV3’s Xposé presenter, Karen Koster, will be the new judge of the Best Dressed Lady Competition on August 24 as previous judge Daithí O Se is unavailable due to his commitments to the Rose of Tralee.

The prizes will remain the same, the winner of this year’s Best Dressed Lady Competition will win €2,000 worth of Newbridge Silverware courtesy of sponsors Martin Murphy Newsagent and Jeweller. All ten fashion finalists picked from the glamorous crowd by Karen will receive a goody bag including a bottle of Jacob’s Creek Sparkling Rosé.

The first race on Sunday August 24 is off at 2.35pm and the feature race is the Watertower Steeplechase.
