The interview process for the next Galway football manager is due to get under way in the next week or so.
The panel will include three officers of the county board - county chairman John Joe Holleran, vice chair Michael Ruane and treasurer, Milo Costello.
The two club delegates selected to be on the interview board are Gerry Hussey (Dunmore McHales ) and Gearoid Denvir (Ml Breathnachs ).
The feeling in football circles around the county currently is that Gerry Fahy and Tomás O’Flaharta are the favourites for the position. However after Joe Kernan’s surprise appointment last year, nothing can be taken for granted.
Mulholland bookies has Gerry Fahy as hot favourite at 8/11, Tomás O'Flatharta is at evens, with Peter Warren at 5/1.
McIntryre reappointed
As expected, John McIntyre was reappointed Galway senior hurling manager at Tuesday night’s hurling board meeting. McIntyre was given another two-year term, with a review by hurling board officers at the end of the first year.
