Two men charged with trespassing in a manner that would cause fear to others were refused bail at Galway District Court.
Patrick O’Reilly (42 ) with an address at 9 Cloonmore Park, Tallaght, Dublin, and Patrick Quilligan (25 ) with an address at 9 Kilbarry, Waterford, and Tallaght, Dublin, were brought in custody before Judge Mary Fahy on Monday.
Both men were charged with tresspassing on the curtilage of a house in Rockfield Avenue, Ballybane, in such a manner that would cause or was likely to cause fear to other persons, and with obstructing and wilfully resisting gardai on September 18, 2010. O’Reilly was further charged with six counts of dangerous driving at various locations, Castlepark Road, Monivea Road, Ballybane Road, Morris Roundabout, Ballybane, and Bothar Na dTreabh on the same date.
After evidence of arrest, charge, and caution was given in court defence solicitor Adrian MacLynn made an application for bail.
Inspector Ernie White objected to bail being granted on the grounds that the offences were “very serious” and a number of bench warrants had been issued in the past for both accused men. In the case of Quilligan the inspector added that gardai had been given two addresses and that they were unsure as to where he was now residing.
Judge Fahy refused bail and remanded both men in custody to appear at Harristown District Court tomorrow.
