Galway car auction company offers warranty option

M6 car auctions has taken a step towards allaying the perceived fears of purchasing cars from auctions by introducing the option of a warranty.

The warranty comes in association with Mapfre Asistencia which owns the motor assistance company Ireland Assist.

This new move will be welcomed by the many buyers who attend the M6 car auctions on a weekly basis.

While all vehicles are sold as seen, the customer now has the option of purchasing a warranty on the vehicle at a knockdown price of €199 for 12 months.

This is a major coup for M6 car auctions which has already sold more than 600 cars since opening last March.

Tom Lynskey of M6 car auctions says: “It is great to give the our buyers the option of a warranty on their car for up to 12 months if there isn’t a manufacturer’s warranty on the car already.

“This warranty applies to cars that are less than 10 years old and have travelled less than 200,000 kms. So as well as getting a vehicle one third cheaper than anywhere in Ireland, you can now get it a 12-months warranty also.”

Nigel Buttner of Mapfre Asistencia says: “This is a new and dynamic way for M6 car auctions to offer our products. Not only does it give added confidence, but it also provides peace of mind to private individuals when purchasing their vehicle through M6 car auctions.”
