Water tankers installed in Tonabrucky, Killagoola, and Barna

Water tankers will be installed in Tonabrucky, Killagoola, and Barna, near old waterworks at Furrymelia West, to provide an emergency supply to the areas.

In a joint statement issued this week, the Galway County Council and Galway City Council have advised the public that there will continue to be low pressure and some water outages in the Tonabrucky and Letteragh areas.

Parts of the Barna and Moycullen areas, served by the Tonabrucky reservoir, will also be affected. As a result the county council has installed the tankers until the water supply can be fully restored. Water from tankers should be boiled before consumption as a precautionary measure.

The local authorities are working closely together to resolve the situation and have apologised for any inconvenience caused.
