THERE ARE many virgins in Galway. Some have just never had the opportunity while others have made a conscious decision to say no.
These stories of self denial or just plain old back luck return to the Town Hall when Galway company MorWax stages Like, A Virgin in the Town Hall Studio from Monday October 20 to Saturday 25 at 8.30pm.
Written by Peadar De Burca and Kieran Duffy, the show will feature a variety of actors relating stories culled from various interviews. The stories tell of valiant attempts at seduction, shocking randiness, recollections of ‘the first time’, and a few tales of those who deliberately opt out.
Like, A Virgin begins something of a mini-season of MorWax plays at the Town Hall. Next up is Why Men Cheat in the Town Hall Studio from Wednesday October 29 to Saturday November 1 at 8.30pm.
Written by Peadar De Burca, it is based on interviews with men who have ‘eaten out of the other side of the trough’. The stories allow the actors to explore, in a humorous way, why men are so prone to infidelity, what compels them, what they are looking for, and the consequences of their actions.
Next up is Peadar Be Burca’s one-man show What Men Want in which the author looks at the desires, aspirations, wishes, and hopes men have and why they would like women to take these on board. It may put you off men forever or may make you a little more sympathetic to them. Either way you will be entertained in this theatre/stand-up comedy show.
See it in the Town Hall from Thursday November 6 to Saturday 8 at 8pm.
