A new play penned by Declan Varley and a Neil Simon classic will form the highlights of the annual Autumn Theatre being presented by Compantas Lir in Carnmore next week.
The run commences on Tuesday next at the Carnmore Community Centre and will continue for four nights on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The night of drama also includes wine, soft drinks, tea, coffee and a light snack and and has proven a real treat for the past two decades.
This year’s entertainment includes the premiere of a brand new play by Declan Varley. Personal Belongings is a comedy set in the first class carriage of the Galway-Dublin train on the day of a cheeky crime in the city. This is the third play Mr Varley has written for the group following The Company of Friends and No Butts. The production is directed by Dermot Hession.
The second play is a Neil Simon classic Visitor from Forest Hills and is produced by Philip Cribbin. This is a zany wedding tableau in which an irate father, pressed past mind and pocketbook, cannot budge his distraught daughter out of a locked bathroom to the altar.
