A number of free events will take place at Coole Park next week as part of National Heritage Week.
An afternoon of family nature activities will take place this Saturday August 21, from 2.30pm to 4pm, offering families the chance to explore the woods and learn about biodiversity.
A bat walk organised by Galway Bat Group will take place in the woods from 8.45pm to 10.30pm on Saturday.
Sunday August 22 will feature an event centring on the Gregorys of Coole. Take a walk through the park to learn the history of the Gregory family from the 1760s.
The Trees of Coole, an event taking place on Sunday August 29, will reveal the story of Coole through its magnificent trees on a guided walk through the woodland. The walk will take place from 11am to 12.30pm.
Also on Sunday August 29, a ‘Me and Nu’ family walk will take place from 2.30pm to 4pm, centring on the magical world of Lady Augusta Gregory’s granddaughters growing up at Coole during the early 1900s. The event will also include art activities.
