All Star hurlers Ollie and Joe Canning were given the tough task of teaching some of the biggest stars in Hollywood how to play hurling on TV3’s Xposé. The Supermac’s sponsored hurlers taught Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James, and David Spade, stars of The Grown Ups, how to handle a hurley and sliotar.
After some hilarious — but less than successful — efforts at practising with the hurleys and sliotars by the stars, the Canning brothers took all players aside for some serious coaching.
Once they had got the hang of the basics, the experts split the group into two teams, mixing the Hollywood stars and Xposé presenters; the first team consisting of Adam Sandler, Kevin James, and Sean Munsanje, with the second team being Chris Rock, David Spade, and Glenda Gilson.
Ollie and Joe Canning challenged the teams to pick the sliotar up with their hurley and hit a target. Each celebrity had to take up his position and take a shot at the target area within the goalposts.
Glenda led the winning team as they shot the most on target. The Hollywood stars were delighted to learn the most skilful game in the world and accepted a presentation of Supermac’s sponsored Galway GAA jerseys and Canning hurleys.
