Sneak preview of autumn winter 2010 trends

As summer is coming to an end, more and more of us start thinking about our autumn winter wardrobes.

Autumn winter 2010/2011 fashion trends will accommodate the fact that we will be buying less but spending more — that means fewer indulgences, but better statement pieces. Here are the key trends for the upcoming season.

Fur and lace are two big trends. We will wear them during the day or mix the two fabrics for an evening out.

Turtlenecks: The turtleneck is a hot trend for the next season. Everything depends on how you wear it. Try to mix colours and add some funky accessories to your look, and the turtleneck will change from very dull to a stylish piece.

Maxi dresses: Femininity will always be fashionable. So if you feel the need to look womanly, maxi dresses are the perfect option.

Knit: Wear knits from head to toe or as individual key pieces such as a poncho, though a poncho will require great fashion skill to pull off. Be creative and it will work.

Easy pants: Summer was filled with harem pants and peg pants, difficult to wear, but this season it is all about leg lengthening trousers that would suit most of us.

Fringe is another key trend, and it goes mostly on clothes rather than accessories.

They will be a lot of bright colours this season but navy and orange are the star colours of autumn/winter 2010-2011.

Minimalism: Simplicity and luxury make a comeback this season, with well cut and expensive items.
