Queen of Networking comes to Galway

The Irish Academy of Public Relations has launched a programme of training courses for companies in the western region.

The first training course sees the Queen of Networking, Tricia Murphy, teaching her very popular networking skills course in Galway in September.

Tricia will teach participants how to go to a business meeting and leave with three good business leads. Details of the course are on www.irishacademynetwork.com Speaking about the course the academy’s director, Ellen Gunning, said imagine how productive your business would be if every time you (or one of your staff ) attended a function, and you left with three good business leads?

“In recessionary times, networking skills are vital. Tricia gave a networking session to the Dublin group in May which was instructive, insightful – and great fun. This is a course not to be missed,” she added.

The academy’s programme continues in October when their course is about writing a business plan – how to structure a constructive, cost-effective, industry relevant plan for your business for the coming years.

In November they will be teaching people how to write press releases and generate publicity for their business or charity.

Finally in December the academy will be teaching people about Strategic Time Management – how to use your time effectively and maximise your efficiency.

The courses are offered under the banner of the Academy Network which was launched by the Irish Academy of Public Relations in Galway in May of this year.

Membership is open to anyone working in the communications industry as a communicator (PR, marketing, event management or advertising ) or as a supplier (hotel, photographer, printer, graphic designer, webmaster etc. ).

Courses are for members and non-members alike. Details of all courses are on the academy website www.irishacademynetwork.com
