The Paul McLoone Show @ Róisín Dubh

TODAY FM’S The Paul McLoone Show is heading west and on Thursday July 29 he will be broadcasting his show live from the Róisín Dubh.

For the event, Paul has chosen three of his favourite up and coming Irish bands - O Emperor, The Ambience Affair, and The Minutes - to perform exclusive sets during the three hour broadcast.

O Emperor [see this week’s Proust Questionnaire], are a Waterford indie-folk quartet who have received great critical acclaim for their live performances and their debut EP Reverie.

“Think Fleet Foxes/Local Natives, with various vocalists and the vibe of The Band thrown in for good measure,” said Futuresounds, while The Irish Times went so far as to call them “Ireland’s answer to Grizzly Bear”.

The Ambience Affair is vocalist/guitarist Jamie Clarke and drummer Marc Gallagher. Their songs feature layered, looped, guitars, keyboards, and vocals, combined with driving rhythms. Their song ‘Parting Patterns’ was recently featured in an episode of CSI:NY.

Dublin trio The Minutes have gigged extensively in Ireland and Britain supporting Albert Hammond Jnr, The Pigeon Detectives, The Von Bondies, and Supergrass. Their debut album Marcata is due for release later this year.

The show will broadcast live from 7pm to 10pm. Tickets are available from the Róisín Dubh and Zhivago.
