Exploring nature at Coole Park

With summer in full swing Coole Park is offering guided walks on Sunday afternoons, and children's nature activities each Wednesday afternoon during July and August.

Take the opportunity to explore Coole Park with NPWS staff at 3pm on Sundays. The walks are a chance to learn more about the beautiful landscape that Coole has to offer, and its very special history.

See where Lady Gregory and Yeats walked and talked discussing plays, poetry and the events of the time. Discover how a turlough works, what birds and animals inhabit the woods, and the biodiversity of the landscape. You can also see the famous autograph tree and where Lady Gregory's granddaughters, Anne and Catherine, spent their idyllic childhood.

On Wednesdays children aged five to 10 can experience nature through the senses, exploring and discovering with outdoor and craft activities. Booking is essential and children must be accompanied by an adult.
