ONE OF the most high acclaimed Irish dance/theatre shows of all time - Fabulous Beast’s Giselle, choreographed by Michael Keegan-Dolan - is in the Black Box Theatre this week.
Giselle, a radical reinterpretation of the famous ballet, is on at the Black Box theatre tonight, tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday at 7.30pm (matinee at 2pm on Saturday ) as part of the Galway Arts Festival.
The show has won widespread acclaim since it was first performed in 2003. “Giselle is one of the most inventive shows I’ve seen in the last 10 years,” said the Canadian actor and director Robert Lepage. The Daily Telegraph described it as “heartwrenching visual poetry”, while choreographer Michael Keegan-Dolan has been described as a “genius” by The Irish Times.
