The next section of the Western Rail Corridor is going ahead according to Green senator Niall Ó Brolcháin, who has rubbished claims saying cutbacks in funding had stalled progress.
Sen Ó Brolcháin recently met with the Transport Minister Noel Dempsey, who gave him a “firm commitment” that the next stages of the rail corridor are proceeding as planned.
“Any reports to the contrary are quite simply scaremongering,” said Sen Ó Brolcháin. “I will continue to lobby the Minister in this regard to protect the WRC from any cutbacks.”
