New Miss Galway United Nations Laura Fahy says she is excited about representing Galway in the upcoming inaugural Miss Ireland United Nations pageant, which is to be held at the South Court Hotel in Limerick on July 2.
Ms Fahy, a Kinvara native says it is “a great honour to be picked and to be an ambassador for your county”. The 23-year-old, who is currently working as a retail manager, says her family and friends have been very supportive. “My boyfriend is driving me all over the place for photoshoots,” she says, adding, “Everyone has been great.”
A total of 32 girls will compete for the honour of winning Miss Ireland United Nations in Limerick on July 2, with the winner representing Ireland in the Miss World United Nations finals in Jamaica some weeks later. The launch night for the pageant took place in Limerick recently and Laura says, “Born clothing have supplied me with lots of beautiful dresses and evening wear so they’ve been a great support.”
She says it is a dream come true to be representing Galway “I’ve met a lot of the other girls and they’re all really nice, I’m really looking forward to it”.
