Bluegrass sounds from The Molly Hicks

THE TOWN Hall Theatre will resonate to the sounds of Appalachian, bluegrass, country and gospel when The Molly Hicks take to the stage.

On Wednesday June 30 The Molly Hicks play their first ever concert at the Town Hall Theatre.

The core of the band is songwriter Ruth Dillon (vocals/guitar ) and Bernie O’Mahony (vocals/guitar ).

Ruth has toured America and Europe with the Dolores Keane Band and as a solo performer played support for Richard Thompson, Altan, Sharon Shannon, Francis Black, Ron Sexsmith, and Sean Tyrrell. Bernie is a soulful singer who has performed with Sean Tyrrell’s The Midnight Court.

Also in the line up are Tom Hanway (vocals/five-string banjo ), Peter Akerstrom (vocals/guitar ) and Paul Johnson (bass ).

The Molly Hicks guarantee a lively show, with everyone taking turns at lead and harmony and call-and-response, in the fine traditions of American folk.
