The west of Ireland’s biggest charity cycle , the annual Croi Lough Corrib event, is set to take place on May 23 this year.
Now in its 15th year, the ‘Tour de Lough Corrib’ is a fun road trip taking cyclists around the lake, offering breathtaking scenery along the way.
There is a choice of a 29 mile or 75 mile route through scenic Connemara supporting the fight against heart disease. This is one of Croí’s biggest annual fundraising events and every year the funds raised help the fight against heart disease.
The event kicks off with a complimentary breakfast and cyclists depart Galway on a route through Moycullen, Oughterard, Maam Valley (29 miles ), Cornamona, Cong, and Headford, finishing in Galway (75 miles ).
In 2009 more than 500 cyclists from around Ireland participated in the cycle, which is fully supported with cycle repair crews, first aid and refreshment stations en route.
The event will take place on Sunday May 23. For further details visit www.croi.ie or contact Sarah-Jane on 091 544331.
